International Trade Fair Success: Georgian Brands Take on Europe

Author: Tatia Paradashvili

2025 marked an exciting beginning for Georgian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the “Trade Fair Assistance for SMEs in Georgia” program. Supported by Visionest Institute, Georgian fashion brands were given the opportunity to present their collections at prominent international trade fairs, facilitating their entry into European markets and enhancing their visibility on the global stage.

Georgian Kidswear Brands at Playtime Paris

From January 25 to 27, six Georgian children’s fashion brands—OTS, RKO, Electra Lassini, NICOLAS, Giraffe Kids, and ANNA J.—presented their collections at Playtime Paris. This renowned event attracts top designers, industry professionals, and buyers from around the world.

For these Georgian brands, participation in Playtime Paris was more than just an exhibition; it was an invaluable opportunity to gain exposure, build key relationships, and explore international markets. Their presence underscored the growing recognition of Georgia’s fashion industry on the global stage.

Georgian Footwear and Accessories Brands at MICAM & MIPEL Milano

After Playtime Paris, nine Georgian brands showcased their designs at MICAM & MIPEL Milano from February 23 to 25. The participating brands included Gepherrini, Cosmo, Nicolo, Summus, Marika Mamisashvili Handmade, Only Seven, Salle de Mode, and Nini Patsatsia.

As two of the largest trade fairs for footwear and accessories, MICAM and MIPEL offered an excellent platform for Georgian designers to introduce their craftsmanship to international buyers, establish valuable industry connections, and stay informed on the latest global trends.

Visionest Institute’s Support and Mentorship

A cornerstone of the “Trade Fair Assistance for SMEs in Georgia” program was the extensive preparation and mentorship provided by Visionest Institute. Prior to the fairs, 53 Georgian brands participated in a series of intensive workshops. Seven workshops—two in person and five online—covered essential topics such as export readiness, market entry strategies, brand positioning, and negotiation skills.

During the trade fairs, Visionest Institute’s CEO, Anu-Mall Naarits, personally mentored the participants, offering expert advice and feedback to help them navigate the challenges of the international trade scene. This hands-on guidance ensured the brands were equipped to make the most of their opportunities and confidently engage with international buyers.

This initiative, funded by the European Union and implemented by Visionest Institute, a contractor of the Estonian Centre for International Development, with support from UNDP Georgia, aims to boost SMEs’ exports to the EU and European markets through participation in international trade fairs and B2B events.

A Step Forward for Georgian Fashion

The participation of Georgian brands in these prestigious international trade fairs has been a significant milestone. Many brands received valuable interest from buyers, initiated business negotiations, and secured trial orders. These promising outcomes demonstrate the potential of Georgia’s fashion sector on the global stage.

By continuing to provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and international exposure, Visionest Institute remains committed to helping Georgian SMEs succeed and expand their presence on the global market.
