On 12 September 2025, the University of Georgia in Tbilisi hosted a first-of-its-kind, highly practical workshop titled “How to Stand Out at an International Trade Fair?”, led by Anu-Mall Naarits, CEO of Visionest Institute

This innovative session brought together SMEs from fashion, accessories, jewelry, uniforms, and textile-related sectors, offering a hands-on, skills-oriented approach to international exhibition success.

Unlike conventional lectures, the workshop centered on a specially designed learning video, guiding participants through the details that truly make a booth stand out-from selecting the ideal location and designing eye-catching layouts to implementing smart visitor engagement strategies. Attendees learned how to attract attention, manage foot traffic, choose effective giveaways, and capture high-value leads. Even smaller or less visible booths could become high-impact with the strategies shared during the session.

The event was highly interactive, pausing at key moments in the video to allow discussion, exchange of real-life experiences, and exploration of best practices proven on the international stage. Participants were able to immediately translate insights into actionable skills, making the workshop not only innovative but directly applicable to their businesses.

The session was designed for both first-time exporters and experienced SMEs aiming to elevate their trade fair presence. Feedback from attendees highlighted the workshop’s unique approach, practical focus, and detailed orientation as invaluable, leaving them confident and equipped to make their international exhibition presence truly stand out.

This new, skill-focused approach represents a meaningful step forward in preparing Georgian SMEs for international competitiveness, showcasing Visionest Institute’s commitment to innovation, practical learning, and tangible results.

This initiative, funded by the European Union and implemented by Visionest Institute, a contractor of the Estonian Centre for International Development, with support from UNDP Georgia, aims to boost SMEs’ exports to the EU and European markets through participation in international trade fairs and B2B events.
